Leading WTA players from Spain, including former World No.1 Garbiñe Muguruza, Carla Suárez Navarro and Paula Badosa, have joined their countryman Rafael Nadal and basketball player Pau Gasol's initiative 'Red Cross Responds', which aims to raise a total of €11m from the world of Spanish sport to help those affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Muguruza, Suarez Navarro and Badosa all joined the cause and also sent out messages on their social media accounts to their followers. Spain has been one of the countries most badly affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
