Casper Ruud drops big praise on Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic & Roger Federer

Rising Norwegian star Casper Ruud has praised Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer for their humility and kindness. Ruud, who is the top-ranked player from his country, knows Nadal the best from the Big Three but he also has positive experiences with Djokovic and Federer.

"I think they’re all great guys. I know Rafa the best. But I’ve played against Roger and Novak in the match, they were both nice to me both on the court and off the court. You know when I see them they say hi to me," Ruud said, per Essentially Sports.

"I think that’s really nice because they have hundreds and thousands of people in their life that they can say hi to and for them to come to me at the gym”.

Ruud thrilled by Djokovic's gesture

“Last time at the Australian Open Djokovic didn’t have to come to say hi to me at the gym," Ruud acknowledged.

"They’re nice guys and know how to behave well. They have experienced while growing up. Maybe Sampras came to Roger when he was young. I would say I know Rafa better and we say hi all the time. He sends me messages and he’s the closest I am to, but the two other guys are as nice as him”.

Ruud made the quarterfinal at this week's ATP 500 event in Acapulco, before giving a walkover to eventual champion Alexander Zverev. ''I’m very sad to have had to withdraw from my match today just minutes before stepping on court.

My team and I have done everything we could to be ready but the pain in my wrist was too bad to be able to play today,'' Ruud said in a Twitter post. "I wanted to thank the @AbiertoTelcel for the great hospitality this week, great tournament with an amazing atmosphere Mexico. I hope to be back in the coming years and now I will do everything I can to heal up and be ready for Miami."
