Simona Halep increased her advantage on Caroline Wozniacki after Indian Wells. The Romanian has 860 points more, and she has many chances to be on the throne after Miami as well as last year Wozniacki reached the final there.
Jelena Ostapenko achieved her career-high ranking at the fifth place overcoming Karolina Pliskova, while the Indian Wells finalist Daria Kasatkina got closer to the top 10, she is now 11th. Johanna Konta is 14th, and she will leave the top 20 in case of an early loss in Miami where last year she won the title.
The Champion Naomi Osaka is 22nd, she earned 22 places. Bad week for the two Russians Svetlana Kuznetsova and Elena Vesnina, the respective 2017 finalist and champion in Indian Wells. Kuznetsova is now 27th while Vesnina left top 40.
Petra Martic broke the top 40 earning 11 places.
