Ons Jabeur: I felt honored after being compared to Roger Federer

World No. 14 Ons Jabeur felt "honored" to be compared to Roger Federer during this past Wimbledon. Jabeur made the quarterfinal at Wimbledon and some believed her game resembled Federer's game in certain aspects.

“I think Roger has an amazing slice and ball strike. Some people compared us to Wimbledon, especially when they saw the way I used my backhand slice. Of course, you can't compare. They talked about Federer's style, and I'm really honored to be compared to him.

Yes, I love Roger's cushioning and slices," Jabeur said, per We Love Tennis.

Jabeur enjoying the best season of her career

Jabeur is ninth on the Race to the WTA Finals and she has a real shot at becoming the first Arab player ever to make the season-ending event, "The main goal is to qualify for Guadalajara," Jabeur said, per the WTA website.

"It's a dream coming true. It's something big. Knowing that I can be the first Arab to qualify, it's unbelievable. "It's more stress on me but I really made my peace with it. I'm going to do my best.

If I qualify, great. If I don't, maybe it's a great message for me to rest my body and be ready for the next season." Jabeur wasn't surprised by her big season as she claimed she always knew she had the game to beat the best.

"I knew I had the game to win against any player," Jabeur said. "The consistency and the ability to play in that level against those amazing players is never easy. The matches, the experience helps me a lot. "I see myself as one of the Top 10 players.

I'm trying to reach this. I hope I can prove myself. I know I have a lot of things to work on. I see myself as a Top 10 player, but maybe 9 or 8. I feel like I have so much more to do and to work on to be in the Top 5, which is good news for me and a lot of motivation and challenges to be there."
