Kamil Majchrzak: Playing Roger Federer at Wimbledon on the Centre Court is a dream

Polish tennis player Kamil Majchrzak was happy for fellow compatriot Hubert Hurkacz when he got a chance to play Roger Federer at Wimbledon as he says every player dreams of playing the Swiss on the Centre Court at The Championships.

Hubert, the top-ranked Polish tennis player, saw off Federer in straight sets in last year's Wimbledon quarterfinal. It was one of the biggest wins of Hurkacz's career and a big moment for Polish tennis. "I mean, to play Federer at Wimbledon on Center Court is the dream of every player.

And to beat him, it's even more. I don't think there was a single person in Poland who didn't know what happened. It was an outstanding moment for all of us, not just Hurkacz," Majchrzak told Sportskeeda.

Majchrzak, Hurkacz played at the ATP Cup

Hurkacz won all of his three singles matches played at the ATP Cup as he and Hurkacz led Poland to the semifinal.

Unfortunately, Majchrzak tested positive for COVID-19 just before the semifinal match against Spain. "I mean, I am vaccinated. I had COVID twice, so I watched these things from both sides. I believe it's good to vaccinate to prevent infection.

If you are still infected, the sickness will affect your body less. So I believe if there is a chance, and if someone decides to take it, it's a good choice. But everyone should have a choice," Majchrzak said. Majchrzak is ranked at No.

95 in the world and he hopes to do well in the upcoming period. "Yeah, it's a very nice start. I was hoping for this kind of start because it brings me back to top 100, and I can line up my tournaments a little differently.

So I'm looking forward to being here in Pune, the ATP and Challengers in France, then I go to the States to play Indian Wells and Miami," Majchrzak revealed.
