Andy Roddick said it was great to "catch up with old friends" Roger Federer and Serena Williams at the Met Gala. Roddick, the 2003 US Open champion, and his wife were among the guests at the Met Gala in New York. Federer, a former 20-time Grand Slam champion, and former 23-time Grand Slam champion Williams were also in attendance.

During the Met Gala, Williams revealed she was pregnant with her second child. Roddick had a chance to chat a bit with Federer and Williams as the American tennis icon told him and his wife about expecting to soon welcome her second baby.

"It was a blast. We got to go support our friend Roger Federer, did a great job hosting. I think that means to shaking hands with people. Got to see Serena and [she] told me about the baby and pregnancy.

So, it was a great night, catching up with some old friends. There's no real like publisicts or agents or anything. So, it's kind of fun to see all the celebrities arrive without their pacifier. We actually have to engage and talk and be amongst each other.

It's just an unbelievable event, so well done. Then, you kind of visit the different parts of the museum that are great. It's a crazy event in the best way," Roddick said on Tennis Channel. During the Met Gala, Federer reflected on tennis players and athletes in overall being introduced to the fashion world.

"The sports people have gotten more and more fashionable. We are fortunate enough to get on the covers much more frequently nowadays. Before, it was always the models, the good-looking people, not the athletes," Federer said.

Meanwhile, Federer has been enjoying his retirement life for the past few months and has yet to make an appearance at a tennis tournament as a guest. During the summer, Federer is expected to return to Wimbledon and be a part of the BBC'S 2023 Wimbledon coverage.
