As reported by the newspaper Il Corriere del Ticino, the children of Mendrisio educational institution will receive a beautiful gift from Roger Federer. The Roger Federer Foundation has launched a sort of competition that is giving away 40,000 francs for projects that aim to create recreational spaces inspired by nature and located in the immediate vicinity of an educational institution.

The Federer Foundation aims to create 100 new natural recreation areas throughout Switzerland by 2025. The pupils of the school of Mendrisio, through the Council of boys and girls have repeatedly expressed the desire to be able to spend the recesses in a less cemented context.

The Mendrisio project was chosen by the Foundation and will receive 40,000 francs for its construction.
