The Laver Cup, a team event in which a European team and a team from the other nations of the World face each other, is highly anticipated this year as well. The challenge that in the rotation between continents this year is played in Berlin (immediately after the US Open) from Friday 20 to Sunday, September 22, is also expected for the presence of Rafael Nadal.

The Spanish player has not yet made any definite announcement about his farewell to tennis and is preparing for the Paris Olympics that will be played in his beloved Roland Garros where he won 14 times the Grand Slam title.

Someone at the time of the announcement of his presence in Berlin had also suggested a farewell to the tennis of the Spaniard in the style of Roger Federer but to date there are no certainties in this regard. All tennis fans remember the 2022 edition of the Laver Cup which was the last event played in his career by Roger Federer.

And everyone remembers the double played by the Swiss champion together with his friend-rival of a career Rafael Nadal and the photo with the two players hand in hand in tears.

In the recent interview that Roger Federer gave to the Gazzetta dello Sport on the eve of the release on Amazon Prime of the documentary that traces the last 12 days of his career, those days at the Laver Cup, The Rosea interviewer asked Federer what he would do if this time Nadal asked him to be his doubles partner at the Laver Cup in Berlin 2024.

And the Swiss’s response did not in fact close all the doors, on the contrary. Federer said: "I don’t think we will play doubles together at the Laver Cup, but if you ask me I will be there". We just have to wait until September to see.
