Whilst the stars of the match showed a great amount of respect for each other after finishing the match, others weren't that polite and kind. Stanislas Wawrinka beat Novak Djokovic the other night, and received the compliments of the entire tennis world, including the Serb himself.
Is no surprise that compatriot Roger Federer found a moment to congratulate his fellow friend and countryman on Twitter. Here is Roger's nice Tweet: So deserving for Stan the man #nevergiveup #whatamatch #sohappy And here is what some Serbian tennis fans had to say in response to that: "You are Mister S**t" someone said, "Are you happy, A****e?" others replied.
And those were some of the most generous. Here is the rest: "Novak has kicked your a** more than once! Go back home Pensioner!" and "You are happy for what? You idiot!", not to mention "Miserable", "I hope Murray will kick you out tomorrow", "B*****d!", "You're dead tomorrow against Murray" and "You better think about playing your game you Swiss S**t!".
Not the best of the reactions, considering also the politeness and class showed by the players and the kindness of Roger's tweet, which was meant to congratulate his friend, not really to throw Djokovic under the bus.
Is tennis becoming more and more like soccer?
