I played the best tennis of my career to beat Roger Federer: Marin Cilic

Marin Cilic arguably recorded the biggest triumph of his career, when he stunned 17-time Grand Slam winner, Roger Federer, in the semifinals of the United States Open Tennis Championships on Saturday. And, the Croatian star could not negate this fact! "It’s just an amazing day for me.

I feel amazing. To be able to play like this, I never dreamed of (it), and I think today was the best performance of my career," an ecstatic Cilic was quoted as per saying by ATPWorldTour.com. "First point to the last I was absolutely playing the best tennis of my life," he continued further.

The Final Hurdle Cilic, 25, will look to clinch his maiden Grand Slam trophy, when he locks horns with Japanese sensation, Kei Nishikori, in the summit clash of the prestigious tournament. "It's gonna be a special day for both of us: an opportunity for both of us to win a Grand Slam, to be a part of the history," he said of Nishikori, who is also in quest of his first major triumph.

"(There's definitely) gonna be huge emotions on the court. We played a couple times already here at the US Open. Both of those matches were extremely tough under very difficult conditions." ALSO READ Tomas Berdych involved in feud with lady chair umpire Ana Ivanovic looks gorgeous at Vogue party
