Roger Federer is going to star in a very "hot" final part of the season, full of commitments and goals to seek and reach. Starting with the home tournament of Basel, where Roger is top seed and defending runner-up, moving to Paris for the Bercy Masters 1000, then London for the ATP World Tour finals and then again France for the Davis Cup final.
A busy schedule for the 33-year old, but also a time for great excitement. Starting his Basel campaign in great fashion (check Roger's debut here), the World No.2 will try to close the year on top of the men's rankings, overtaking Novak Djokovic from the top.
With the Serb who has already become a dad, things for Roger could turn out to be more complicated than previously expected (check the story here). Speaking to the media after his successful debut in Switzerland, Roger revealed what his priorities are for these last weeks of competition.
"Right now I am focused to win the tournament of Basel, which for me is very important. After that, we will see what happens with the rest. At this point of the season my priority has to be considered to close the year as World No.1.
The Davis Cup only will arrive at the very end of the season. When that moment will come Davis Cup will be my main priority, but not for now" confessed the Swiss. It sounds a surprising quote however, considering how Roger happily showed on his social media accounts pictures of himself practicing on indoor clay, the surface chosen by the French team to play the final in Lille, just few days ago (check the pictures here).
