According to Swiss Media, Roger Federer will not play the French Open

According to Basler Zeitung, Roger Federer has not recovered from his back issues and his condition has worsened and thus will not play be playing the French Open. Federer however is yet to confirm whether he will be playing at Roland Garros or not.

Meanwhile, Il Giornale reported that until Monday, Federer was still in Rome. It seems that he had a grim expression on his face while his family was having breakfast. At one point Roger smiled and started joking with his son, but the expression on his face changed when he tried to get up out of the chair he was sitting on.

These are ominous signs for the Swiss, who reached Paris on Tuesday to test his fitness for the French Open. 'In the last months I played more or less four matches, so I have to see how it goes How am I doing? I am not in the mood to explain you everything, honestly,' Federer had said after his loss in the third round in Rome, last Thursday.

Age is only a number but it is also significant. Federer's dream is to win Olympic Games, but at the moment the reality is far from completing this dream. ALSO READ: Here is what Nadal, Federer, S. Williams and Dimitrov will wear at the Roland Garros (PICS INSIDE)
