Famous tennis coach Nick Bollettieri thinks that 18-time Grand Slam champion Roger Federer has shown yet again that he is a champion. The Swiss defeated Tomas Berdych of the Czech Republic at the Miami Open on Thursday to clinch the semi-finals 6-2 3-6 7-6 (6).
World number 14 Berdych had a 6-4 lead in the tie-break -- but the Swiss tennis player went on to win four points in a row and earn the win. Federer served for the match at 5-4 in the third set -- but Berdych resisted to broke Federer back.
The two played a good match, which went down to the wire. Federer now has a 18-6 lead over Berdych in their head-to-head record. Federer went on to defeat rising Nick Kyrgios after beating Berdych, and is now set face next his old rival Rafa Nadal in the final.
The 35-year-old Swiss, who made it all the way at the Australian Open and Indian Wells in 2017, is bidding to win his third title of the season in Miami.
