ATP Halle tournament director: 'Federer helped us to enter in a new dimension'

ATP 500 Halle, that will take place from 19 to 25 June 2017, has been officially presented on Thursday. The tournament director Ralf Weber can't be anything but proud of this year's entry list that features eight top 20 players.

Obviously Roger Federer leads the field, he will make his 15th appearance in Halle, where he won eight titles, 54 matches and lost six. 'We are looking forward to Roger's comeback. He helped the tournament to enter in a new dimension and to make it even more popular over the World', said Weber about Federer, who signed a lifetime contract in 2010 with the tournament, that is the only one that guaranteed Federer's presence until the end of his career.

In the entry list there are also Kei Nishikori, Dominic Thiem and Alexander Zverev, who lost last year's final against his compatriot Florian Mayer. 'It would be a dream to win here', said Zverev, who in the semifinals had upset Federer for the first time in his life.

Roger will also play ATP 250 Stuttgart that takes place Just after Roland Garros and obviously in Wimbledon where he will bid to win his eighth historical title. ALSO READ: Stan Wawrinka: 'Djokovic is going through what Nadal and Federer went' .
