TV ratings for Wimbledon final have been announced. On ESPN the match between Roger Federer and Marin Cilic wasn't to successful, as it was watched by 1,100,000 spectators, it means 400,000 less than 2016 final won by Andy Murray over Milos Raonic in straight sets (1,500,000).
Of course Cilic's foot injury at the end of first set and Federer's dominance didn't help people to stay in front of TV for a long time. Always on ESPN, the women's final won by Garbine Muguruza over Venus Williams was watched by 700,000.
In 2016 the final between Serena Williams and Angelique Kerber raised 1.4 million ratings. On BBC Federer-Cilic match was watched by 6,5 million people, which isn't so much considering that Johanna Konta's run to the semifinals attracted more than 7 million.
Finally on Sky Italy, an average of 415,000 people watched it. On the Italian Channel the most watched tennis match ever has been the Miami final between Nadal and Federer this year with 518,000 people. ALSO READ: Roger Federer: 'Novak Djokovic won't play Laver Cup!'
