Mark Philippoussis: 'Roger Federer is the greatest of all time'

Former world no. 8 Mark Philippoussis revealed who, according to him, is the GOAT. The former Australian player, who back in the days reached two Grand Slam finals, told L'Equipe: 'You know, you got [Roger] Federer, he is the greatest of all time.

[Rafael] Nadal is right behind him, he is three Grand Slams behind. He is pretty good. I think it was smart for him to have a little bit of time off at the end of the year (in 2016),' said Philippoussis, adding that we are incredibly lucky to be able to watch such an amazing era of tennis players.

Philippoussis lost the 1998 US Open final to Patrick Rafter and the 2003 Wimbledon final to Federer, who won his first Major title there. Philippoussis only beat Federer once in five matches played, at the 2003 Hamburg Masters in three sets.

In 2003, they also played against each other in the singles rubber of the Davis Cup semi-finals, with Federer beating Philippoussis in straight sets. Still, Australia won that tie 3-2 and then the title as well. ALSO READ: ATP Board Member: 'Sascha Zverev wants to imitate role model Roger Federer' .
