Roger Federer still doesn't have a definite answer about whether he would be playing the clay season or no. However, in response to a question by Tennis Magazin, the Swiss talked about his chances of playing the French Open this year. He said, 'I have to listen what my team suggests and how my body feels. Last year, clay wasn't in my plans. If I play this year, I may combine Paris with maximum one or two tournaments.'
On being the world no. 1 Federer said, 'Becoming the world no. 1 is also because of my coaches [who have helped me] all these years. They encouraged me to go far, they inspired and motivated me, as well as my wife and fans. It's a new primate, I didn't know it, but I would be okay with not having it as well.'
Finally about Alexander Zverev: 'I feel that he is setting high goals. I had the same problem at the beginning of my career. You can dream, but you can't mentally be at a certain point that hasn't happened yet. Sascha will figure it out, because he is too good and a smart player.'
