A few weeks ago Roger Federer revealed that his best match ever played was against Lleyton Hewitt at the 2004 US Open, but what about his favorite match? Things may coincide, but it's not the case. Speaking in Rotterdam in February after his win over Grigor Dimitrov that brought him the 97th career title, the Swiss said: 'I can't play much worse than this. I have a lot of passion for the game. Playing in front of full stadiums is fun, I tell you that. I remember how I started when I was young. Sometimes I played at 11 pm on second courts. I remember playing (Pete) Sampras, my first time on Centre Court in Wimbledon. Cold hands, emotions. Out of the body experience. It will always be my favorite match.'
Federer also said recently that he would be okay to hit and play some sets with Sampras, a 14-time Grand Slam winner, maybe in an exhibition.
