Borna Coric was about to achieve probably the best win in his career last month in the BNP Paribas Open semi-finals in Indian Wells against Roger Federer. The Croatian was leading 7-5, 4-2, then he lost the match in the third set.
Asked by Gazzetta dello Sport when Next Gen players will be able to overcome Federer and Rafael Nadal, Coric replied: 'When they stop. It's very tough. They are at the peak, they play incredible tennis.
It's very tough to beat them, not only once but just to have continuous good results. It's going to take some time for sure, but I hope we can do it in the next years.' Speaking about Next Generation's qualities, Coric added: 'There are a couple of guys who are doing really good.
All of us are gonna be a very good opponent for each other, and we are very good friends, which I think it's important.' Commenting on his goals, the Croatian was cautious: 'I want to stay healthy, that's the main thing because in the last years I wasn't able to stay healthy.
And then improve in tennis, fitness and in my mentality.' ALSO READ: Kristina Mladenovic: 'I really like Roger Federer a lot' .
