Roger Federer's popularity increased more and more when he first joined Facebook in 2009, but probably most important Twitter in 2013, a few years later than other top players like Novak Djokovic or Rafael Nadal.
We are now able to see the Swiss player from a different perspective, in a funny and unusual way. 'Social media started for me five years ago', said Federer. 'I was doing a lot of silly things back in the day but I couldn't share them with anyone, because through the website was always complicated, and we didn't always have phones with cameras and photos on it that you could do everything so simple.
So that's the nice thing about social media, that you can actually share many more things with your fans.' Federer also added that sometimes it's him to make posts and share them. For example, in the last years, he did some very interesting Q&A sessions on Twitter with his fans using #AskRF.
