Rafael Nadal is still world No. 1 after his 11th French Open win, but Roger Federer could soon overcome him again. By reaching the Mercedes Cup final in Stuttgart this week, which means winning three matches, Federer would be on the ATP Rankings throne for the 310th week in his career.
At the moment there is a 100-point difference between them. In the best of cases, if Federer wins in Stuttgart he would have 8,915 points, 145 more than Nadal. The Swiss defends just 5 points in Stuttgart as result of his last year's opening round loss.
Nadal would be world No. 1 again by reaching Queen's semifinals, but he may not play in the grass-court season. ALSO READ: Roger Federer reportedly set to leave Nike for Uniqlo
