The Roger Federer effect: Halle breaks record attendance!

The 26th edition of Gerry Weber Open in Halle was a great one, with 115,550 people attending the event from many countries in the World during the nine-day competition including qualies. And organizers are already thinking about the 2019 edition that will take place from 15 to 23 June.

Thousands of tickets have been sold, the 40% more than previous year. 450 journalists were there, which is a record as well. The tournament director Ralf Weber admitted that he hoped Alexander Zverev could fight for the title, but recognized that met a tough opponent like Borna Coric in the opening round.

At the moment, Alexander Zverev, Dominic Thiem, Hyeon Chung, Karen Khachanov are confirmed for next year's event. Roger Federer should be there as well, he will play Halle until the end of his career. ALSO READ: Roger Federer reveals his only fear during the Halle weekend .
