Roger Federer: 'I haven't skied for the last ten years'

When Roger Federer travels, most of the time it is because the Swiss plays tennis events. But it also happens that he enjoys some long breaks from tennis, for example from April to June, for the last two years, he has skipped the clay-court season and during the off-season in late November.

Commenting on his favorite places to visit as a family, Federer, said: 'We love going to the Maldives, for us it’s our quiet place where we’re all together. We relax at the beach, have fun, it’s our source of energy,' said the Swiss, who is father of four children.

'We’ve gone there many times. When we had no kids we used to go to Mauritius, Seychelles, Turks & Caicos. We like beaches, but since we live in Switzerland, hiking vacations have been a big thing for us—I used to do it with my parents as well.

Skiing has started for the kids, though I haven’t skied for the last 10 years. I’ll ski again after I retire.' Asked how he deals with jet lag, Federer said: 'I always think ahead for the time change that’s ahead.

I almost forget what time it is in the place I left, and I live in the new time zone: try to eat at the right time, go to bed at the right time, and try not to cheat at those things.' ALSO READ: 'Novak Djokovic will be world No. 1 and pass Roger Federer's 20 Majors'
