Roger Federer respects Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic and in a recent interview, the Swiss explained what makes his two rivals great as players and people ´I think Nole and Rafa´s essence is the same: they are big fighters, they move in a fantastic way and they both hit the ball very well,´ said Federer. ´They have something special.I know Rafa very well.

I played a lot of exhibitions with him and we knew each other under several points of view and a different spotlight. I also travelled with him, we did many things together to make tennis grow, I know him really well and he is a good guy.´ Federer´s retirement from tennis has always a question that has been repeated over and over again.

The world no. 3 has often said he will keep playing as long as he is competitive on the biggest stages. ´I started thinking about the time where I should have stopped playing in 2009,´ admitted Federer.

´After all what I did, I could retire in peace with myself. I am proud of my career and I know there are many years left after that I stop competing. I hope to be able to achieve many things with my Foundation or maybe in other things.

So the end of all this does not scare me. I also have a family and I will have more time to spend for it even if I already do.´ ALSO READ: Roger Federer explains why he is not the greatest player ever
