Jack Sock had a very disappointing 2018 season and he left the top-100 rankings. The American will still be able to compete in the Australian Open main draw through a wild card and in an interview to Sky Sport Italy, he said that he is not too sad about it as he is still a part of the ATP World Tour Finals in London in doubles (with Mike Bryan) and will have other chances to do well in the future.
'It wasn't the best year for me in singles,' Sock said. 'It happens in life, sports. People talked about the future of Rafa and Roger when they got injured a few years ago and they are pretty still high now. I am motivated for next year.' Mike Bryan has been teaming up with Sock for some months now as his brother Bob is dealing with an injury.
The Bryan Brothers are set to compete together again at the 2019 Australian Open, and in the meantime Mike is enjoying himself: 'I had not played doubles for a long time. Jack is a part time doubles partner and luckily he helped me at the middle of the year saying he wanted to focus on doubles.
And I really appreciated that cause we won two Grand Slams and helped me to get higher in Slam titles than my brother. It has been a lot of fun. He is a big player, he plays well in the most important events like this one.' ALSO READ: Rafael Nadal: Worse players than David Ferrer won a Grand Slam title
