The three-time French Open winner Gustavo Kuerten believes that Novak Djokovic can dominate tennis in 2019 over Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer. In an interview to Mundo Deportivo, Kuerten commented on the 2018 tennis season.
'Without any doubt, the biggest message is the one of Djokovic. He was on a cloud, with all the difficulties you have to get to a very high level. But he returned, and he is the most prepared guy to triumph. I believe we ended the year with a guarantee, that in the next three or four years, the big protagonist will be him (Novak), and Rafa and Roger need to find solutions one more time.
They are the best for it, but Djokovic is still able to make it. Djokovic now has more room to achieve a complete year having chances to win fo a longer time.' Commenting on Nadal currently trying to recover from a foot surgery, Kuerten added: 'I do not know serious Rafa's injury is, but he definitely is very willing to fight for the number one.
They (his team) will choose his key moments in a better way.' Asked what he does nowadays, Kuerten added: 'A little bit everything. The biggest dedication is as a father, but I keep being involved in tennis, trying to get more Brazilians on the Tour', he said laughing.
Nadal will start the new season at the Brisbane International joining Nick Kyrgios, Andy Murray, Grigor Dimitrov and many more world class players in the field. Djokovic will play in Doha, Federer at the Hopman Cup. ALSO READ: Rafael Nadal: Worse players than David Ferrer won a Grand Slam title
