Roger Federer: 'The fire is still burning, but the end can happen anytime'

In an interview Roger Federer commented on his life on tour being a professional player as a father of four children. "I think I see my children more than most of the other fathers. I always thought that when they were born everything would have changed, but it's not like this, because I can handle my life and we also travel together on Tour, I spend a lot of time with them.

It was my wife's dream that my children could be aware of their father playing. And that dream came true", said Federer. Asked when he could retire from the professional game, the Basel native added: "It can suddenly be the end because of a serious injury or because the motivation drops down, but that's not the case now.

The fire is still burning and I am happy to go on the air flight to play a tournament. I do not longer have the necessity to be playing tennis, I am okay also without not doing it." "Sometimes it's difficult to understand the public's opinion: if you are very dominant, people sometimes want to see someone else win.

I had that time for example in 2005 and 2006. Then the crowd got upset every time I lost a set. Anyways, some players are very popular among the crowd, I have been on tour two decades and fans know me very well for it."
