In an interview to Paris Match Roger Federer commented on his romantic relationship with his wife Mirka. They started dating in 2000 and they got married in 2009. "She made me grow faster and gave me stability and her experience.
When we met for the first time, we spent two weeks together and the last day we kissed each other for the first time. There is always a woman behind a man's success, they say. I am a perfect example of that." They share four children together.
Funny things happen when Federer is at home. "Sometimes after I win a big match, my daughters tell me: 'Well, now come to play Lego!!" The daughters are more interested in horse racing and golf, while boys care about tennis and football.
Federer is okay whatever their choices will be. "Tennis is an important part of my life, including for them, but our home is not a home where everything is about sports. I want my children to live as most normal as possible.
Other times after losing a match, I get home and they want to immediately know if I am doing well. Sometimes they ask me without any filter: 'But, dad, why did you lose?' Next time you have to beat him!"
