Roger Federer: 'Wimbledon court speed is like wine'

Roger Federer commented on how the first week of Wimbledon was. The Swiss said: "I did not do a lot since when the tournament has started. I have to see when I can rest. But I saw a lot of tennis, recovered and enjoyed time with my family and friends.

At the beginning of the week, I was in the city for a wedding and I had dinner with the Laver Cup team. But I am happy when we are at home. The weather is nice and we spend a lot of time in the garden and off it." Asked if courts are slower this year, Federer replied: "I spoke to Tim Henman and he told me that they still do exactly the same.

I think it's like wine. It's not the same one every season, even because of the weather. That's probably the reason why it may be slower this year in the first week. The ball bounces five centimetres less than the past year. That's a big difference."
