In an interview, Diego Schwartzman praised Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic. The Argentinean player said: "I enjoy the three in the same way because for me they are the best ever and they are playing in the same era, so sharing the locker room with them in the best tournaments is just a pleasure.
I think Nadal is the guy who I have the best relationship with because I know him off court, but besides that, I enjoy a lot competing with them and I hope to face them many more times." Asked how he would like to be remembered, Schwartzman concluded: "I want to be remembered as a great sportsman who did everything so things would go well and I hope to stay around for a longer time."
Asked what footballer he would like to be, Schwartzman replied: "I will pick a Boca player who I am similar to from the physical point of view, Nandez. Per now I take him. 2018 was a great year for me, I had many highlights and I achieved my career-high ranking but tennis does not give you too much of a breathe."
In an interview former Argentinean player and Schwartzman's coach Juan Ignacio Chela commented on the new Davis Cup format. Chela said: "I preferred the old format, more than anything for the home and far away, you lost the tradition of playing home.
But a change was needed because top players were not playing it and it lost prestige. Now it's better now but I think players will be tired in November. Anyways, any team where the best guys are there is the favourite... If Federer, Nadal or Djokovic play, that team will be the favourite."
