Russia's Tennis Federation chief Shamil Tarpischev commented on Andrey Rublev's straight-set win over Roger Federer in Cincinnati. Tarpischev said: "Andrey delivered his best game. Rublev headed into the court being angry.
It's difficult to stop Federer's rhythm but Rublev did it. Andrey played at a high intensity, that's one of the main keys to win. This win will help Rublev's career." Through his official Twitter account, Daniil Medvedev praised Andrey Rublev's straight-set win over Roger Federer.
Medvedev said: "I am very happy for Rublev. Unreal respect. Beating Federer is something crazy. I hope we will have a nice Russian quarter-final." The tennis coach Viktor Yanchuk added: "Rublev played very clear, he is in a good shape.
He was consistent. Federer may not have played at his best but he definitely did not want to lose. Rublev's confidence will increase and a new journey for him can start." Viktor Kamelzon added: "After a big break, Rublev is confident again.
This time off was helpful for him. Like Khachanov, Medvedev, Shapovalov, Rublev is fast and all of them are not afraid of Federer or Djokovic. Federer didn't expect such a performance by Rublev."
