Roger Federer shared what is his motto. The Swiss said: "When I was young, I heard something that really stuck. “It's nice to be important, but more important to be nice”. Everybody wants to be the center of attention.
But actually that is not what is most important. It's how you treat others, I think there's no difference of how I treat somebody from somebody else. I think we're all the same at the end of the day. We all live on this planet together and we all should be nice to one another."
What does it mean to be a gentleman? "I think it’s being classy, having style. It all comes down to your personal values. In the back of my head, I’m always repeating this thing my parents told me, that the secret to success is being nice."
On how he deals with jet lag, Federer, who goes through all the five continents in the year, added: "My secret is making sure I eat at the right times. That and keeping busy on the day you arrive, to make sure you get a good night’s sleep.
And hydrating is also very helpful in avoiding jet lag." On what he would have done if he wasn't a tennis player, Federer said: "Football was my other passion as a kid, but I always knew I wanted to play tennis."
