In an interview Steve Zacks commented on Stan Wawrinka playing in St. Petersburg and not in his country in Geneva during the same week. Zacks, the Laver Cup CEO, said: "When we decided that Laver Cup would be played in Geneva, Roger Federer gave me the goal of bringing him.

And during the Australian Open - before the tickets sale started - Stan, who was No. 59 at the time because of an injury, rejected to be picked by the captain. It was disappointing." On Nick Kyrgios playing for the third year in a row, Zacks added: "Nick was one of the superstars in the first two years.

We love him because he is a big teammate that gets along well with the captain and wants to win. You know, he loves playing for a team, in this environment he takes the best out of himself." The event will be played from 20 to 22 September at the Palexpo Arena that usually hosts Switzerland's Davis Cup matches.

"Unlike the first two years, where we had booked an existing facility, this time we had to create everything. Seats, locker room, restaurants, audio system... Everything had to be built. We spend all year to plan this week.

Our "Tennis Unrivaled" slogan plays on the fact that in Laver Cup rivals become teammates, but also that the event is a unique experience for everyone who takes part to it."
