Baghdatis: 'Wins over Roger Federer, Nadal were some of my best ever'

Marcos Baghdatis was asked what his best career moments were apart the Australian Open final and Wimbledon semis. The Cypriot player said: "The win over Roger Federer in Indian Wells, the win over Rafael Nadal in Cincinnati and the title in Sydney.

There are, obviously, many other good moments. Obviously, the Melbourne final stands out." Recalling when he broke four rackets in a row at the Australian Open, he added: "I am not sorry at all for it! I did what I could. Every decision I took was because I thought it was the best choice for me, for my tennis and my family.

So when I did not manage to find joy for tennis, I started a family. The most important thing for me was to be happy. And that's what I did for my whole life. Things could have been better but worse too. I could have been the number one.

But I do not want to speak about possibilities. I do not want to think this way." On his mentality, he concluded: "I was happy. When I wasn't, it looked like I was. And that was probably my biggest disadvantage as a player! That's how I am and that's how I grew up.

For me life is not just about tennis. There are many other things. I always wished to have a family, since I was young. Being loved. On Sunday I have many people at my house. The family is the most important thing."
