Roger Federer: 'I always made a promise to myself that I will never change'

Roger Federer attended an event organized by the Japanese brand Uniqlo on Friday in Shanghai, China. The Swiss said: "I am very happy to be back in Shanghai at the Uniqlo store. We had a big event last year, It was super successful so it's nice to be back.

I love playing in China as everybody knows, it goes far back to 2002 when I was Playing here for the very first time. My fans have always been special here over the years, they have Always been behind him and that's absolutely been fantastic and I cannot thank them enough and also Uniqlo.

The journey has been very fun." Federer also spoke about his mentality: “I just try to be myself, I always made a promise to myself that I will never change, regardless to all the fame and media, and wealth...whatever all comes with it.

I did have to adapt just cuz life in spotlight can be tricky sometimes and you have to watch your moves sometimes and think twice of what you are going to say because you are gonna be in trouble all the time possibly. But that's not for me.

For me it's also very natural. I can act very freely, I do not have to think too much about if I am going to make mistakes. It's very positive to have a microphone because it allows me to inspire, share my vision, talk about the Foundation and so on but a good person at the end of the day is somebody who is just a nice, simple guy, doesn't have to be successful, necessarily for that matter at any stretch.

I just think that if you are kind one another, you are a good guy. It's good to be around people who spread good energy."
