Thiem can be a champion but Federer, Nadal, Djokovic still rule - Wilander

In a press conference at the Linz Open, the former world No. 1 Mats Wilander praised Dominic Thiem's potential. The Austrian reached two French Open finals so far and showed in Indian Wells and Beijing that he is competitive on hard courts too.

"Dominic has everything to become a champion, even if the Big Three are still leading", said Wilander. Schett added: "On the women's side you never know what's going on, this year we had four different Grand Slam winners (Osaka, Barty, Halep, Andreescu), anyone can win, the depth is enormous, so exciting."

Schett also spoke about why Wilander is in Linz: "Mats was hit by the tournament and asked if he could be back. At Eurosport, John McEnroe is like a critical guy. Mats gives his opinions. Players respect me a lot, including the new generation despite I never won a Major."

Jaume Munar spoke about Rafael Nadal: "I spend a lot of hours with him and now I travel with his lifetime friend Tomeu, so that helps. Nadal is like a mirror for me. Having him behind me and knowing that he supports me is a privilege.

In tennis it's about details, as little as they can be, and Rafa takes care at the best each of them. Every detail counts a lot and as a player, I am much better than months ago."
