Kei Nishikori: 'Roger Federer is very different in matches and training'

The Japanese player Kei Nishikori spoke about Roger Federer. "At practice, he is very loose even just a few days before his match while other players usually practice at their 100%. But he is completely different in a real match," shared Nishikori who also spoke about his approach to the matches: "Recently I've started looking back the videos of my defeats though I used to re-watch only matches I won to gain a good feeling, this year, I've come to realize that I have to reflect on my bad matches and learn from them," said Nishikori who seems unlikely to show up in Vienna and Paris in the next few weeks.

"I have not started playing tennis yet and I do not know how I will feel when I hit a ball again." Federer on "umpire" Kei: "He was very relaxed, didn't take things seriously unlike other umpires on tour, I got only one warning today, much better than last week."

Another Swiss, Stan Wawrinka, is set to return to competition this week in Antwerp for the first time since the US Open. "I have been having a foot injury since before the Open started", said Wawrinka. "After New York, it was too much to play with an injury over the last few weeks.

I took time to recover. Now the pain is still a bit there but it's better. I am happy with what I can do on the court. So I am very happy to be in the competition again."
