Stefanos Tsitsipas spoke about how playing the Laver Cup with Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal made him improve as a person. The Athens native said: "I was able to discover his personality. He is an amazing guy who you can have interesting conversations with.
I learned from him as most as possible. Laver Cup was a great experience for players: being able to share the same court, being part of the same team. It's very pleasant. This is one of the biggest events of the year."
Before the match against Federer in Basel, Tsitsipas added: "I think it will be a different semifinal than the one in Australia. He plays at home and will have the crowd support. I have to focus on my game, not think too much about what surrounds me.
It will be very tough, I have to stay calm and positive." Federer won the match in straight sets 6-4, 6-4. Jo-Wilfried Tsonga is looking forward to the Paris Masters. The Frenchman said: "It's a special tournament for me, I won it 11 years ago.
I also reached a final against Federer (in 2011). It's a tournament close to my heart, I lived amazing moments. In the first round I will face a great player (Andrey Rublev). I imagine that the crowd will be behind me, so hopefully I will experience big emotions and it will be a good week for me."
Tsonga concluded: "I feel better. There were ups and downs during the season. After being away from the competition for almost a year, it's difficult to regain speed. But during the season it evolved and now I start being a more successful player than the start to the season.
I will try to perform well. I still love playing. We will be in amazing conditions here in front of 15,000 people. All the French players will be supported by the crowd so why can't we do big things?"
