In a conversation with W Radio, Tomas Berdych was asked about his career highlights. He said: "It is very hard to pick one moment but winning the Davis Cup and reaching Wimbledon final stand at the top, on my mind. I am very proud that my career was very constant, results were not ups and downs, I was able to keep at a high level for many years and reached the fourth rankings position even if I coincided in the same generation as Roger Federer, Rafa Nadal, Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray.
That's what I am proudest of." On why he has never won a Grand Slam, Berdych said: "It was my chase pretty much my whole career and I was trying to put everything I could. I was not successful on it. I was the guy who was playing with a big serve, very aggressive.
When I was in a good shape, I was able to hit good balls, dictate the game and not wait for what they would gonna do. That was only my chance of beating them." On the new Davis Cup format, he said: "My history with Davis Cup is very long, they took a drastical change, it's a very new format.
I wish them all the best and I hope it's gonna be successful because tennis is an amazing sport and the Davis Cup deserves to be a nice event." It's unclear if Berdych will return to competition. He has not been played since the US Open.
