The pre-sale of Roger Federer's silver coin was closed out after the pre-sale quantity of 33,000 coins got sold out. Several days ago, it was announced that Swissmint company would honor the Swiss tennis legend with a commemorative 20 Swiss franc ($20) silver coin.
The coin -- which features 20-time Grand Slam champion Federer in his trademark headband preparing to strike a backhand -- could have been bought for 30 Swiss francs. "Pre-sale closed. The pre-sale quantity of 33,000 pieces of the Roger Federer silver coin is sold out.
The coins are no longer available on the web shop," per Brian/Camerlengo73_2/Twitter. However, fans who missed out on the chance to buy a coin will have opportunity to get themselves one piece in January or May. "On the day of issue of 23 January, a remaining quantity of 22,000 pieces and higher quality coins ("proof-quality" and "folder") will be put on sale.
A further 40,000 Roger Federer silver coins will be issued in May 2020," as revealed by the tennis blogger from Switzerland.
