Coach Ivan Ljubicic insists he doesn't know for how long will Roger Federer play tennis professionally. Federer, 38, is still going strong as he is ranked at No. 3 in the world and coming off a season where he made six finals.
Despite being already one of the most accomplished players ever, the Swiss is still hungry for more success. In recent years, the record 20-time Grand Slam champion has made some scheduling adjustments to prolong his career and be at his best at the biggest events.
"I don´t know how long Roger will be on the tour. That is a question for him. I´m just happy to have him so motivated. He just loves playing tennis. Tennis is our life," Federer's coach Ljubicic told the Diriyah Tennis Cup.
Federer had been expected to start the new season at the inaugural ATP Cup but he decided to pull out of the event. If nothing changes, the 38-year-old will play his first tournament of the season at the Australian Open, which starts on January 20.
