Roger Federer: 'I realize how crazy it is to be recognized all the time'

Roger Federer reigns over the world of the little yellow ball from the top of his many records, titles and prices. But does all this success sometimes make him dizzy? Are there not times when he presses the pause button and looks at his life in surprise, maybe even with some disbelief about how crazy it is? "It happens to me, indeed," he confessed to the Tribune de Geneve.

"There are phases where everything seems normal to me: the trips, this constant excitement around me, the stadium full for every match, the victories, the defeats. And then there are also moments when I realize how crazy it is to be recognized all the time, to play in full stadiums, to keep winning.

It kind of is like a cold shower. Fortunately, this feeling is quite rare because I have to have time for myself. Now my life is pretty busy. When I get home, I guarantee you won't hear any noise. The children are there, there is always something to do.

This is why evening meals, alone with Mirka or with friends, are important. We try to take a moment to calm down, to share a little. These moments make me feel good”.
