Swiss Roger Federer admitted he has had some epic battles with Kevin Anderson while in South Africa for a charity match. Federer, ranked at No. 3 in the world, will play against 19-time Grand Slam champion Rafael Nadal this Friday in Cape Town.
Federer, 38, knows well South African star Anderson as the two have played against each other seven times throughout the course of their careers. "Of course, Kevin, we've had some epic battles... at Wimbledon a couple of years ago he beat me in an epic one," Federer said in Cape Town, per Sport24.
Former world No. 1 Federer owns a positive record over Anderson as he has six wins and just one loss against the former world No. 5. But Anderson's lone win over Federer came in their most epic meeting. Back in 2018 at Wimbledon, Anderson came from two sets down to claim a shock win over Federer 2-6 6-7 (5) 7-5 6-4 13-11.
