Serena Williams on her and Venus' path to becoming all-time greats

Serena and Venus will go down as one of the greatest champions the game has ever seen as they have combined for 30 Grand Slams.

Rick Macci, one of the first coaches to work with the Williams sisters, recently said he knew from the start that the Williams sisters would transcend the sport. The Williams sisters are highly accomplished on the court but have also showed talent for the fashion industry and for various business ventures.

The Williams sisters were the reason why many African-American players from the younger generation picked up a racket and started playing tennis. The truth is that the Williams sisters have left a major mark on tennis and that hey have indeed transcended the game.

"We changed it from being two great Black champions to being the best ever, period," Serena Williams told CNN, per Sportskeeda. "And that's what we did. We took out color and we became the best. It is what it is, we changed the sport, we changed the fashion, we changed how people think, we changed how people think in business.

"Before we played tennis, we wanted to do something that was frowned upon and now I have two amazing companies, one which we came to talk about, Serena Ventures, all because of what we did to change the sport." Serena Williams hasn't played since last year's Wimbledon but is planning a comeback as she has made it clear that she hasn't given up on the idea of winning a 24th Grand Slams.
