Canadian tennis star Bianca Andreescu has praised Serena Williams and Maria Sharapova for being successful outside of tennis and revealed that she is definitely hoping to one day start her own business. Williams and Sharapova accomplished a lot in tennis and now are focused on growing their businesses.
Williams and Sharapova are proving that a tennis player can be succesful outside of tennis and Andreescu hopes to follow their path one day. "I mean, to build your tennis empire in a way is to kind of have it all, and, I mean, that's what Serena does well, that's what Maria Sharapova does well, and I want to get to that point as well.
I already have some ideas, but I'm focusing more on tennis right now, and then I know the rest will come," Andreescu said, per Sportskeeda.
Andreescu praises Naomi Osaka
Osaka is the highest-paid female athlete in the world and Andreescu says it's inspiring to see what the Japanese has been doing.
Osaka is the face of some of the world's most renowned brands and recently she announced the launch of her own sports management agency called Evolve. "Seeing what she's doing outside of the sport is great.
That's not only creating her own skin care line or, you know, her own racquet and stuff like that, but also what she speaks about, I think it's very important. I think she's like collaborating with someone about mental health.
To me, that's more inspiring than the other part," Andreescu said. Meanwhile, Andreescu's clay season came to an end on Wednesday. Andreescu, now ranked at No. 72 in the world, took on Belinda Bencic in the French Open second round.
What was expected to be a tight battle, ended with a straight-set win for Bencic as the Swiss handed a 6-2 6-4 loss to Andreescu. Andreescu will now focus on preparing for the grass season.
