Serena Williams' childhood coach tips Carlos Alcaraz to go down as GOAT

Coach Rick Macci has tipped Carlos Alcaraz to go down as the greatest player of all time as he believes the Spaniard is "Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Andre Agassi all wrapped in one." Alcaraz, who turned 19 in May, has won two Masters titles this year and he is the sixth-ranked player in the world.

Alcaraz is considered as someone who will be the face of tennis once the Big Three are gone and he has been widely tipped to win multiple Grand Slams and reach the top spot. Macci, who was the childhood coach of Serena and Venus Williams, is going a step further as he thinks Alcaraz can have a bigger career than the Big Three.

"I've done a lot of stuff really even two years ago and I start talking about his ability when I first saw him play, very unique. And obviously, I've done a lot of interviews, and I've done a lot of articles on his ability.

He's a generational player. People will have to understand that. In my opinion, he’s Agassi, Djokovic, Federer, Nadal all wrapped in one. I know this sounds crazy, barring injury, he's going to go down as the greatest player of all time," Macci told Tennis-Infinity.

Macci. Alcaraz was born to do this

After winning Masters titles in Miami and Madrid, Alcaraz was hoping to win his first Grand Slam title at the French Open. Alcaraz suffered a quarterfinal defeat to Alexander Zverev in the French Open quarterfinal, before losing to Jannik Sinner in the Wimbledon round-of-16.

"And I know that's crazy to talk like that when someone just turned 19 and they haven't won a Grand Slam. I saw this in Sampras, I saw it in Federer, I saw it in Nadal. I didn't see it in Djokovic, you know, he came on a little later, but, he just has the most complete game.

He was born to do this. He's the fastest guy that's ever picked up a tennis racket. When you can do that, you can play offense, defense even when you're nervous. He has a drop shot from outer space, and but off the ground, he's very authoritative, he has high level technique. And like I said, he was born to do this and he has humility," Macci added.
