Serena Williams and her husband Alexis Ohanian attended the concert held by Pearl Jam at Madison Square Garden on 11 September. Alexis Ohanian shared an Instagram story of another concert attendee that took a picture of them, captioning it with the word “spotted”.
Swiatek also loves Pearl Jam
Recently asked about her pre-match playlist, Iga Swiatek’s revealed that she listens to 2 different Pearl Jam songs ahead of every match. During the on-court interview after her 3-set victory against Jule Niemeier in the US Open quarterfinals, Iga Swiatek shared that she fears mixing up her pre-match playlist because she has been listening to it for over a year.
Since Swiatek’s top position in 2021 was 4th, her current playlist helped her capture the WTA world number one position. “Basically, it’s Thunderstruck, then Even Flow (by Pearl Jam), then GorillaZ, then Porch (by Pearl Jam), then Rock and Roll (Led Zeppelin), and I’m pretty scared to change it.
I’m listening to that since a year ago and I’m pretty bored but it’s working so I’ve got to stick to that,” said Swiatek. See the video with her interview here: Swiatek is “scared” to change pre-match playlist because it got her to world no.1
Pearl Jam guitarist played with Federer
Gates and Federer played against American tennis star John Isner and Pearl Jam guitarist Mike McCready in Seattle in 2017, which raised over $2 million for Federer’s foundation.
Gates appeared on the court again in 2018, raising over $2.5 million for a match hosted in Silicon Valley. “Obviously its mix and wide array of things. Now I mean, make it sound like I can talk about everything. He just donated himself with the foundation, a $100 million into the coronavirus research.
It’s just being to spend time with Bill Gates and his team, it’s always an eyeopener" - Roger told Simon Parker.
