Coach Macci: Serena Williams, Venus Williams would say thank you after every practice

Coach Rick Macci reveals Serena and Venus Williams used to say "thank you" after every practice. Macci, who was the childhood coach of Serena and Venus, is widely regarded as someone who played a major part in the early development of the Williams sisters.

The Williams sisters later became all-time greats and Macci was featured in King Richard. "The most important quality I remember about at @serenawilliams and @Venuseswilliams was every night after practice they said thank you (goat emoji)," Macci tweeted.

Serena Williams done with pro tennis, Venus is still active

Appearing on CBS Mornings, 41-year-old Serena confirmed there were no plans on her side to return to pro tennis.

Also, Serena revealed that her father Richard attempted to persuade her to play at least two more Grand Slams. "It's hard to say. I would say no. For now, no. I've literally given my whole life to tennis, and it's time for me to give my life to something else.

He's like, 'Serena you should play two more Grand Slams.' I'm like, 'Dad, stop,'" Williams said on CBS Mornings. Meanwhile, 42-year-old Venus kicked off her 2023 season at the ASB Classic in Auckland, where she suffered a hamstring injury.

In her latest YouTube post, Venus revealed she knew it was going to be a bad injury the moment she pulled her leg. Venus is currently in the process of rehabbing and she has hinted she plans to return "sooner than later." "I think my next step is to get to to a place where I feel confident in my body again I definitely need to build confidence in it again and I'll get there, god willing.

I'll take you guys on this journey with me, back to health, back to tennis hopefully. Hopefully sooner than later, I don't know exactly when but I'll let you know," Venus Williams said in her latest upload on YouTube.
