Coach Rick Macci reveals Serena Williams and Venus Williams were extremely joyful as little kids and added that their joy only got bigger when they accomplished their biggest dreams. Macci, who was famously Serena and Venus' childhood coach, is widely credited for the early development of the Williams sisters.

Even before the world knew about the Williams sisters, coach Macci had a chance to see and work with two extraordinary talents. "As kids Serena Williams and Venus Williams would Hold Hands Skip and Smile more every day. As the Compton Comets both hands would now hold GRAND SLAM TROPHIES still skipping and would Smile even more every day," Macci wrote on X.

Serena & Venus Williams received a special tribute at the US Open

At this past US Open, 19-year-old Coco Gauff lifted her first Grand Slam title.

By winning the US Open, Gauff became the first American teenager since Serena in 1999 to win it all at Flushing Meadows. Gauff, who grew up idolizing Serena and Venus, paid a special tribute to the Williams sisters after becoming a Grand Slam champion.

“Yes, it's crazy. I mean, they're the reason why I have this trophy today, to be honest. They have allowed me to believe in this dream, you know, growing up. You know, there wasn't too many just Black tennis players dominating the sport.

It was literally, at that time when I was younger, it was just them that I can remember. Obviously, more came because of their legacy. So it made the dream more believable. But all the things that they had to go through, they made it easier for someone like me to do this.

I mean, you look back at the history with Indian Wells, with Serena, all she had to go through, Venus fighting for equal pay. Yeah, it's just, like, it's crazy and it's an honor to be in that kind of lineup as them. And I'm looking at it, and she's won this a lot of times. (laughter)," Gauff said in a special message to the Williams sisters.
