Serena Williams shared another mental health post on X as this time the American tennis icon pointed out how those who joke and laugh the most are often the most hurt ones.

Over the last couple of years, former 23-time Grand Slam champion Williams has been one of the athletes and celebrities preaching about the importance of good mental health. Also, Williams has been very open about some of her own mental health difficulties, like opening up about some of the struggles she experienced after welcoming her first child in 2017.

"I realized sometimes the people who make the most jokes, and make other people laugh is because they are hurting so much inside," Williams wrote on X.

Last November, Williams was having a bad day and she took to X to share that with her fans and followers that "it's okay not to be okay." Williams' message was described by many as "a powerful one" as it potentially could have led to others opening up about their own personal struggles.

"I am not ok today. And that's ok to not be ok. No one is ok every single day. If you are not ok today I'm with you. There's always tomorrow. Love you," Williams wrote on X in November.

In 2022, Williams reflected on her mental health journey and learning to put herself first.

“Mental fitness for me is just really learning to shut down. You know, I did this years ago, before mental health was a topic on everyone’s mind," Williams said in 2022 August during a conversation with Selena Gomez for Wondermind.

”Now that I know that it is so important to put yourself first—especially mentally—I always have shutdown moments. I have serious boundaries, and I don’t let anyone cross those boundaries with my time.”

Meanwhile, Williams is currently enjoying retirement life. Last year, Williams welcomed her second child, when Adira River Ohanian was born.
